Profession Change

An employee may change profession during his/her work period with a Free Zone company. GSO will incorporate this profession change onto the Residence Visa.


The change of profession will not be approved unless the sponsored employee completes a minimum of six (6) months in the initial position.


 


Requirements:

To change a profession, the following documents are required for submission at GSO’s Business Counter:


  • “Application for Amendment Request” duly filled and signed by authorized signatory and the employee
  • Original Passport
  • One (1) color photograph with white background, size 4.3cm x 5.5cm
  • Original ID Card
  • Copy of Attested Educational Degree Certificate from UAE Foreign Affairs (only applicable to certain job titles).
  • Amended Employment Contract

Important!


  • Frequent changes in profession are unacceptable. At least a period of six (6) months should lapse between the profession changes.
  • The Authority may request salary slips, bank proofs or any other documents.
  • Prior to approving a profession change, GSO assesses and ensures that the salary matches the job and the size of the company.
